Restoring organs is possibly one of the most important tasks carried out by the NBC. Everything is done with a lot of care to make sure the instrument retains its original sound. In every restoration, the NBC decides on a course of action. This is decided on together with the client, who can opt for either a full or a partial restoration, or simply a restoration of one or more parts.
No matter what the client opts for, values like "authentic" and "preserved" are the guideline throughout the restoration. We also feel it is very important to make sure our client knows what the end result will be, and what price tag will be attached to that. This method guarantees a no-nonsense approach where the client will know what he's getting right from the beginning.
The NBC attempts to retain the original parts as long as it is possible to do so, and restore them in such a way that our client receives a perfect item afterwards, which still retains its authenticity. Through cooperation with various organisations the NBC has the capability to restore historic instruments at a reduced cost, so restoration is possible for a wider range of instruments.
